Compression Operator

KVK Tech is seeking a skilled Compression Operator to join our team in Newtown, PA.

The Compression Operator will perform set-up, operation, monitoring, and in-process testing of tablet presses and related equipment used in oral solid dosage (OSD) manufacturing. This position requires a strong understanding of tablet compression principles, cGMP compliance, and the ability to make real-time adjustments to maintain product quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring prior experience operating rotary tablet presses, performing in-process checks, and collaborating with cross-functional partners in a regulated pharmaceutical environment.

This position’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Set up, operate, and monitor tablet compression equipment to ensure product quality, consistency, and adherence to Master Batch Records (MBRs).
  • Perform in-process testing, sampling, and inspections—including tablet hardness, thickness, and weight—to confirm compliance with specifications.
  • Perform minor troubleshooting, equipment adjustments, and changeovers to maintain optimal line performance and reduce downtime.
  • Complete accurate and compliant entries in batch records, logbooks, and electronic systems in accordance with data integrity requirements.
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance during in-process checks, line clearances, and deviation investigations.
  • Assist in the training and onboarding of Manufacturing Operator I personnel and support process improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, and compliance.

We are looking for applicants with:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school certificate or coursework in manufacturing or related field preferred.
  • 1–5 years of pharmaceutical manufacturing experience with demonstrated proficiency in at least two OSD processes (compression, blending, coating, encapsulation, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience operating rotary tablet presses and performing in-process testing under cGMP conditions strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of cGMP, FDA regulatory expectations, and good documentation practices (GDP).
  • Ability to perform advanced equipment setup, minor troubleshooting, and accurate completion of batch records.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality and safety.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
